چکیده

In this communication the use of AR modelling in the estimation of cubic phase coupling is studied. After obtaining the trispectrum of an harmonic signal with cubic phase couplings, the parametric modelling is used to design a method that models this trispectrum and allows the locatation of the cubic couplings. This method is based on a twofold AR modelling of the data using their fourthorder cumulants, such as, after the extraction of the two sets of coefficients, called frequency and sum coefficients, the modelled trispectrum is built and the phase coupling are located as the peaks in this trispectrum. A frequency selection method is proposed to overcome the problems asociated to the maximum-detection algorithms in the trispectral domain, which also reduces significantly the computational burden necessary to find these maxima. Practical conditions of implementation and the limitations of using this approach are showed and discussed in simulations.

Non-linearity of Large-scale Structure Formation in the Universe

In the standard picture of cosmological structure formation, the Universe we see today is evolved under the gravitational instability from tiny random fluctuations. In this talk I discuss the onset of non-linearity in the large scale structure formation of the Universe when the linear perturbation theory break downs. Using 1D Zel’dovich Approximation which provides an exact solution for density...

A Three Dimensional Window Function for the Consistent Estimation of the Trispectrum

Window functions are used in the estimation of power spectra, [1] and bispectra [2] in order to ensure the consistency of the periodogram and the Fourier type bispectrum estimation methods. In this paper, a three dimensional optimum bias lag window function is introduced in the estimation of the fourth order cumulant spectrum, also called trispectrum, which is estimated from the three dimesiona...

CMB bispectrum, trispectrum, non-Gaussianity, and the Cramer-Rao bound

Minimum-variance estimators for the parameter fnl that quantifies local-model non-Gaussianity can be constructed from the cosmic microwave background (CMB) bispectrum (three-point function) and also from the trispectrum (four-point function). Some have suggested that a comparison between the estimates for the values of fnl from the bispectrum and trispectrum allow a consistency test for the mod...

Phase stabilization in nitrogen-implanted nanocrystalline cubic zirconia.

The phase stability of nanocrystallites with metastable crystal structures under ambient conditions is usually attributed to their small grain size. It remains a challenging problem to maintain such phase integrity of these nanomaterials when their crystallite sizes become larger. Here we report an experimental-modelling approach to study the roles of nitrogen dopants in the formation and stabi...

The trispectrum of the cosmic microwave background on subdegree angular scales: an analysis of the BOOMERanG data

The trispectrum of the cosmic microwave background can be used to assess the level of nonGaussianity on cosmological scales. It probes the fourth-order moment, as a function of angular scale, of the probability distribution function of fluctuations and has been shown to be sensitive to primordial non-Gaussianity, secondary anisotropies (such as the Ostriker–Vishniac effect) and systematic effec...
